Company is coming!
That is going to be the tone of today’s blog. I am preparing for a dear friend to visit this week and there are things to prepare. You know how it is when company is coming.
You want them to have a cozy room and bed waiting. A clean bathroom. Fresh towels. Some good comfort food on the menu and a list of fun things planned.
I have mentioned more than once how blessed I am to have the friends that I do. From childhood onward, my closest friends are still with me.
My friend Sherry is arriving this week. She was the very first friend I made after I moved to Nashville in 1987. I was twenty-one, newly married and had never been very far from home. In other words, I was scared to death.
Sherry was married with teenaged sons and immediately became a big sister to me. She helped me navigate the challenges of becoming an adult, all the while missing my mother who was now close to six hundred miles away.
We lost touch off and on over the years, but our love for one another never wavered. A few years ago, we reconnected and now we are stuck with one another.
That’s the beauty of friendships and one of life’s greatest joys. I am equally blessed to have a life partner that understands me and knows that my friends are important. Thank you, Caston.
Do you make time for your friends? Life is busy and we all have lots of obligations and responsibilities. I encourage you to carve out a little time to spend with those people that support and understand you.
I am grateful that I was born a female. Get a group of women together and mountains are moved. Get a group of women friends together and love circles the globe.
On that note, I need to get moving…. company is coming!
That’s the best reason to clean and plan a menu! 🖤
Friends add a layer of sweetness and fun to life.
You are a great friend to many! Thankful for you!
Wouldn’t one be lost without friends. So, glad to know ya!
