Charge Your Battery

Charge Your Battery

Charging Your Creative Battery

When I started the website back in November of 2022, my intent was to write a blog and short story each week. Thankfully, I have been able to make that happen until this week.

What I didn’t factor in was creative burnout. It happens to us all. The ideas are there but you cannot seem to bring them into any shape worth the effort of sharing. Instead of putting out something for the sake of posting I would rather be honest and say I have nothing.

I do have a story started but it is not ready to see the light of day. The past two weeks have been full for us as a family. My creative battery needs recharging so that I can carry on.  I hope you will understand and use this week as a time to catch up on stories or blogs you may have missed. I have included both archive buttons to make it convenient.

Also, I ask you to consider becoming a Patron through Patreon. Your support would help greatly in continuing this journey in writing. Lots of perks come with patronage such as a free signed copy of all new books and/or any book in my catalog. Click on the support button to learn more.

I use this as a reminder that we all have times where our batteries run low. It is the time to be kind to ourselves. Take that nap. Say no, not this week. Take yourself on a date. Do something that inspires and peaks your creativity into action.

That is exactly what I plan on doing. Until then, see you next week with a brand new short entitled “Music Lessons.”

This past week I had a literal dead battery moment. I took a group of women to an event and they came out to a flustered me and a van that wouldn’t start. That’s when a friend showed up with another vehicle to take us home. We piled in, all too many of us, and laughed as we held on to one another. A couple of us sat in places that weren’t seats and were held up by our sisters.

That’s how it is for you. Your readers will hold you up. We know how it is. We will wait until you’re ready to go again.

  2. self care and the insight to know when you battery is low and your limits are virtually reached….proactive so you don’t have to be reactive….you are tremendous….blocked happens to all creatives….and then it just flows again
