Thanksgiving was this past Thursday, and marked the start of the 2022 holiday season. Some would say Halloween marks the beginning since all the retail stores now place your pumpkins next to the Christmas ornaments.
At any rate, here we are. The holidays can be a mixed bag for most. You either love it or hate it. I fall somewhere in the middle. Mostly because of expectations to make everything appear like a Normal Rockwell painting. Let’s face it, the majority of us do not have that kind of existence. We are messy, imperfect people, grouped with messy, imperfect family, just trying to figure things out as best we can.
The new short on Friday was a story about nine-year-old Molly and her bike Winnie. I hope you had a chance to read about her adventure and the lesson she learned. The picture here is of my six-year-old self getting a brand new bike for Christmas. My dear Mother is not here to scold me posting a photo of her in a pink 70s quilted robe.
Regardless of your feelings concerning the holidays, I recommend you stop, take a deep breath, and just enjoy the spirit of Christmas which is Christ’s love. Norman Rockwell would agree!
Until next week, stay creative.
